On January 5, 2023, The Social Captains, in collaboration with Karuthal, orchestrated Food Donation Drive 7.0 at South Railway Station, Ernakulam. A compassionate team of 8 volunteers, comprised of dedicated interns from St. Aloysius Autonomous College, Mangalore, actively participated in this noble cause. Their collective mission was to extend support by providing essential food to 50 economically backward individuals facing challenges.

Demonstrating community solidarity, the volunteers collected more than 30 thoughtfully prepared food packets from various households. These nutritious meals were then distributed to those in need, creating a positive impact on the lives of individuals near South Railway Station, Ernakulam. This collaborative effort not only addresses immediate hunger concerns but also showcases the power of collective action in fostering a caring and supportive community.

AIDS Awareness Session

Promoting awareness on AIDS among 34 students

On January 4, 2023, The Social Captains conducted an AIDS Awareness Session in collaboration with interns from St. Aloysius Autonomous College, Mangalore, at Govt. VHSS Njarakal, Ernakulam.

A dedicated team of 5 volunteers took part in this informative session aimed at promoting awareness about AIDS among 34 students in the 9th grade. The session covered crucial topics such as the meaning of HIV, methods of spread, preventive measures, and treatment options.

The volunteers' efforts contributed to empowering the students with valuable knowledge about sexually transmitted diseases, fostering a sense of responsibility, and promoting a healthy and informed lifestyle. Book Donation Drive 2.0

On January 5, 2023, The Social Captains organized the Book Donation Drive 2.0 in collaboration with interns from Ideal Arts and Science College, Cherpulassery, at Sai Shankara Shanthi Kendram, Ernakulam.

A group of 5 volunteers joined hands to provide essential reading books to 50 economically backward students residing at the old age home. The initiative aimed not only to supply educational resources but also to foster a day of interaction, cultural programs, and the spirit of community service.

On January 6, 2023, The Social Captain, in collaboration with interns from Ideal Arts and Science College, Cherpulassery, took a proactive step towards community safety by organizing a Traffic Awareness Campaign at Kakkanad, Ernakulam, in partnership with Kakkanad Police Station.

Promoting awareness on plastic by engaging youth in the creation of 70 paper bags

On January 7, 2023, The Social Captains, in collaboration with Amaara Foundation, organized #MyPaperBag Campaign 13.0 at Govt. HS Edappali, Ernakulam, as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability.

A dedicated team of 35 volunteers, led by our enthusiastic volunteer Fasna, came together to engage youth in the creation of 70 paper bags. The initiative aimed at promoting awareness on plastic reduction and waste management.

During the campaign, 5+ volunteers actively involved 31+ students in the process of crafting paper bags. Additionally, an awareness session was conducted to educate the participants on the significance of minimizing plastic usage and its environmental impact. This collaborative effort not only contributed to the reduction of plastic waste but also empowered young minds with knowledge and practical solutions for a sustainable future.

Beach CleanUp Drive 4.0

Responsibly disposing of 1000 Kg of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste

On January 8, 2023, The Social Captains, in collaboration with Bhumi, Volunteer For India, Kites, and DTPC Ernakulam, organized Beach CleanUp Drive 4.0 at Fort Kochi Beach, Ernakulam, as part of its commitment to environmental stewardship.

A massive turnout of 75+ volunteers from diverse social organizations came together for the initiative. Their collective effort resulted in the responsible disposal of 1000 Kg of both biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, contributing to the preservation of the coastal ecosystem.

This collaborative Beach Clean-up Campaign showcased the power of unity and community engagement in tackling environmental challenges. The volunteers, with their dedication and hard work, played a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and sustainability of Fort Kochi Beach.

Two dedicated volunteers, led by Rachel Mary Manoj, orchestrated the drive, providing essential food items to 200 economically backward individuals. This initiative marked a significant milestone as it represented The Social Captain's first outreach initiative beyond the borders of India.

On February 28, 2023, The Social Captains, in collaboration with District Social Security Mission, organized a UDID Certification Camp in Malappuram.

A dedicated team of 4 volunteers came together to support and facilitate the UDID certification process for 250 individuals in the community. The camp aimed to ensure that people with disabilities receive their Unique Disability ID, contributing to their accessibility to various welfare schemes and services. Blood Donation Drive 1.0

Providing 63 units of blood to blood bank

On February 23, 2023, The Social Captains, in collaboration with Kottukaran Polytechnic College, organized a highly successful Blood Donation Drive 1.0 at Paravur, Ernakulam.

The ceremony was dedicated to honoring and felicitating the efforts of 35+ inspiring women belonging to Haritha Karma Sena in Chavakkad Municipality. On June 4, 2023, we collaborated with Suchitwa Mission, Kochi Corporation, GIZ, Northamps, Heal Kochi, Bhumi, Volunteer For India, Global Shapers Community, JCI Kochi, and Nehru Yuva Kendra for a impactful CleanUp Drive in Kochi.

With 55+ enthusiastic participants, we beautified Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, removing 570+ kg of biodegradable waste, contributing to a cleaner environment. Aligned with the World Environment Day 2023 campaign, our initiative reflects a commitment to global environmental efforts.

Responsibly disposing of 1000 Kg of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste

On June 5, 2023, we collaborated with the dedicated volunteers of the National Service Scheme (Unit 60) of DUA College Vazhakkad for the United Nations Environment Program's World Environment Day 2023 Campaign. Their efforts led to a highly successful CleanUp and Plantation Drive.

With 75+ passionate volunteers, the NSS Unit 60 cleaned the college premises, removing an astounding 1000+kg of non-biodegradable waste, creating a cleaner and healthier environment. They also planted 20 saplings, leaving a lasting impact on the ecosystem.

On June 5, 2023, we partnered with Totem Resource Center and Lost Monk Hostel for a Trekking & CleanUp Drive as part of the World Environment Day 2023 Campaign by the United Nations Environment Program.

Gathering 35+ volunteers, we cleaned and beautified Kurumbalakotta Hill, removing 100KG of waste. Amidst breathtaking landscapes, they hiked, collecting litter and restoring the hill's pristine beauty.

n June 5, 2023, we joyfully joined hands with the National Service Scheme of Safa College of Arts & Science, @nss_safa, to orchestrate a impactful Tree Plantation Drive in Malappuram. This initiative, aligned with the World Environment Day Campaign by the United Nations Environment Program, brought together 50+ passionate volunteers.

On June 6, 2023, we are thrilled to share the incredible success of our recent collaboration with the National Service Scheme of Sullamussalam Arabic College! The monumental CleanUp Drive in Malappuram was truly a sight to behold. Over 50+ passionate individuals united with a shared mission: to clean and beautify the college premises and its surrounding neighborhood. Their dedication and hard work were truly inspiring!

Together, we proudly removed a staggering 250+ kg of non-biodegradable waste from the area. This achievement is a testament to the power of community action and the positive impact we can make when we work together. MCF Street Painting

Promoting awareness on waste management by engaging 10 youth

In May 2023, we are excited to share our collaboration with Cochin Corporation, Suchitwa Mission, and Heal Kochi for a Community Awareness Campaign on Waste Management in Ravipuram, Ernakulam, as part of Good Deeds Day 2023!

Our 51 dedicated volunteers embarked on a mission to establish a proper waste management system in Ravipuram. Conducting surveys, generating QR codes for waste management, and geotagging houses for 741 households allowed us to digitally streamline the process, enabling direct interaction with residents to better understand their needs and concerns. Authorities provided a dedicated container as the Material Collection Facility (MCF), where plastic waste from households is sorted. Our 10 volunteers collaborated to transform the MCF, cleaning and beautifying the facility. They also created awareness-related artwork featuring pictures and quotes, visually conveying important waste management messages to the community.
