Young Innovator Program
Organing 150 sessions with 700 educational institutions to train 50000 youth
From January 1 to February 10, 2022, we proudly organized the Young Innovator Programme in collaboration with the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council and ICT Academy of Kerala. This transformative initiative unfolded on the online platform Zoom, where a dedicated team of 25 volunteers came together.
The primary goal was to organize an impressive series of 150 sessions, reaching out to 700 educational institutions with the aim of training and empowering 50,000 youth. The sessions were designed to inspire innovation, foster creativity, and equip young minds with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in a rapidly evolving world.
This collaborative effort exemplifies the commitment to nurturing the next generation of innovators and thought leaders, aligning with the mission of the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council and ICT Academy of Kerala.

Annual Volunteer Meet-Up
Facilitating meaningful dialogue among 50 youth
On February 11-12, 2022, we hosted the Annual Volunteer Meetup in collaboration with Good Deeds Day and Peace First, a gathering of purpose and passion held in Nilambur, Malappuram. A vibrant community of 50 volunteers came together for this special occasion, where the focus was on facilitating meaningful dialogue among 50 youth. The event took the form of a Changemakers Unconference, providing a dynamic platform for approximately 50 changemakers to engage in open discussions, share insights, and collaboratively plan initiatives to celebrate Good Deeds Day.
This gathering served as a melting pot of ideas, inspiration, and collaborative spirit, reflecting the shared commitment to making a positive impact in the community. It is a testament to the power of collective effort and the potential for positive change when like-minded individuals unite for a common purpose.

Fostering a better learning environment for 30 differently abled students
From March 25-27, 2022, we embarked on a transformative journey as we organized the School Renovation Program 1.0 in collaboration with Perinad Buds Rehabilitation Center, a heartfelt initiative held in Kollam. A remarkable assembly of 100 volunteers converged with the shared goal of fostering a better learning environment for 30 differently-abled students. This impactful initiative aimed to renovate and enhance the school facilities, creating a more conducive space for education and growth.
This endeavor was a part of The Volunteers Camp 1.0, a special initiative aligned with @gooddeedsday. Over 100 volunteers, hailing from various districts of Kerala, participated in the camp, dedicating their time and efforts to the School Renovation Program. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Arun S Nair, Assistant Collector of Kollam, symbolizing the collaboration and commitment of diverse stakeholders towards a common cause.

School Renovation Program 2.0
Fostering a better learning environment for 30 differently abled students

The focus was on beautifying the walls and premises of Perinad Buds Rehabilitation Center, Perinad Buds School, and Anganwadi.
The program went beyond physical renovations, involving the creation of a garden, a badminton court, and the organization of entertainment and engagement activities. Knowledge-based awareness campaigns were also conducted to contribute to the overall development and effective learning space for the students. This noble initiative was made possible with the support of @quilography, underscoring the collaborative spirit that makes such community projects impactful.

The National Service Scheme Volunteers of Govt. VMC Higher Secondary School, Wandoor, took the lead in organizing the School Renovation Program at Town Wandoor Anganavadi. The program aimed not only to renovate but also to incubate and empower educational institutions. During the event, the 50+ volunteers engaged in various activities, including wall painting, gardening, toys distribution, and other beautification works at the nursery. Their collective efforts were a testament to the power of community collaboration and the spirit of volunteerism in creating positive change.

Beach Clean-Up Drive 1.0
Responsibly disposing of 3000 Kg of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste
On April 2, 2022, we orchestrated a significant environmental initiative, the Beach CleanUp Drive 1.0, in collaboration with NSS Technical Cell, Kozhikode, at Kozhikode Beach. A formidable force of 120 volunteers converged, driven by the shared mission of responsibly disposing of 3000 Kg of both biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, benefitting an estimated 12,000 beneficiaries.
The campaign was inaugurated by Kozhikode District Collector, Dr. Thej Lohith Reddy IAS, adding official support to this environmental cause. The event commenced with an awareness flashmob, captivating attention and setting the tone for the day. Volunteers then engaged in the critical task of beach cleaning, where an impressive 3 metric tons of waste were collected and responsibly disposed of. As part of the broader effort to raise awareness about plastic-free living, volunteers distributed paper bags crafted by their own hands to the public. This impactful initiative stands as a shining example of community collaboration, environmental stewardship, and the potential for positive change when passionate individuals unite for a common cause.

Food Donation Drive 1.0
Providing essential clothing to 25 economically backward people
On April 3, 2022, we orchestrated the impactful Food Donation Drive 1.0 in collaboration with Theruvoram Destitute Care Kerala and SFC Arts Club Puzhachal at Kozhikode Beach, Kozhikode. A compassionate team of 15 volunteers united for the noble cause of providing essential clothing to 25 economically backward people. The campaign focused on addressing the immediate needs of those most vulnerable in the community. Volunteers generously donated food to immigrant labourers, elderly individuals, orphans, infants, and differently-abled people on the streets of Kozhikode. Additionally, they extended their kindness by gifting new clothes to children and implementing initiatives to provide water for birds and animals during the scorching summer. The volunteers also took part in a cleanliness drive, ensuring the streets and nearby areas around Kozhikode Beach were pristine. The collective efforts of the 15+ volunteers exemplify the spirit of community service and the positive impact that can be achieved when individuals come together for the greater good.

PHC Renovation 1.0
Fostering a better atmosphere for the well-being of 100 patients
On April 2-3, 2022, we spearheaded PHC Renovation 1.0 in collaboration with NSS Safa College of Arts and Science, a transformative initiative held in Malappuram. A dedicated team of 63 volunteers came together with a shared vision: fostering a better atmosphere for the well-being of 100 patients.
National Service Scheme Volunteers of Safa College of Arts & Science took the lead in organizing the PHC Renovation Program at Edayur Primary Health Center. The program aimed not only to renovate but also to enhance the overall atmosphere for the well-being of patients. The event included cleaning the health centre and its surroundings, removing unwanted shrubs and bushes, nurturing useful plants, and disposing of non-biodegradable wastes in a proper manner. The children's play area in the health centre was also cleaned and gleamed, contributing to a more welcoming and comforting environment. The collective efforts showed the power of community collaboration and the spirit of volunteerism in creating positive change.

BlindFolded Conversation 1.0
Facilitating meaningful dialogue among 30 youth
On April 2, 2022, we organized the thought-provoking event "BlindFolded Conversation 1.0" in collaboration with The Gulmohar Foundation at the Institute of Palliative Medicine, Kozhikode.
A diverse group of 30 volunteers came together for a unique experience, engaging in blindfolded conversations to facilitate meaningful dialogues among youth. This event aimed to promote empathy, active listening, and a deeper understanding of communication beyond visual cues. The BlindFolded Conversation initiative provided a platform for participants to connect on a more profound level, transcending the limitations of sight. This experiential approach fostered empathy and created an atmosphere conducive to open and authentic discussions.

Assesment Study Camp 1.0
Engaging 45 youth to improve the livelihoods of people by promoting responsible tourism initiatives.
From May 28th to May 30th, 2022, we conducted the insightful Assesment Study Camp 1.0 in collaboration with Kerala Responsible Tourism Mission and Kadalundi Grampanchayath at Kadalundi Grampanchayath, Kozhikode. A dedicated team of 45 volunteers gathered with a shared goal: engaging 45 youth to improve the livelihoods of people by promoting responsible tourism initiatives.
During The Volunteers Camp 2.0, participants underwent Capacity Development Training sessions designed to identify the positives and negatives in the community. They actively engaged in activities such as designing a community map, creating presentations, and pitching their findings to the authorities. The Volunteers Camp played a crucial role in empowering the youth to contribute to the betterment of the community by promoting responsible tourism practices. The active involvement of 45+ volunteers demonstrated the collective commitment to creating positive change through community-driven initiatives.

On June 8, 2022, The Social Captains orchestrated the Beach Clean-Up Drive 2.0 in collaboration with the National Service Scheme at Safa College of Arts & Science. This impactful initiative took place at Ponnani Beach in Malappuram.
A commendable turnout of approximately 60 volunteers actively participated in responsibly disposing of a substantial 1000 Kg of both biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. Their dedication and commitment made a significant contribution to enhancing the cleanliness and environmental health of Ponnani Beach.

On June 18th, 2022, we hosted the enriching Volunteer Story Circle 4.0 in collaboration with Stories Circle at Stories Circle, Kozhikode.
An impressive gathering of 66 volunteers came together with a shared objective: facilitating meaningful dialogue among 66 youth. This collaborative initiative aimed to provide an open space for youth volunteers to meet, share experiences, and work together to promote volunteerism. During the event, participants engaged in an interactive session, forming three groups to create social projects. The Volunteer Story Circle serves as a non-judgmental space for volunteers to share their volunteer experience stories, connect with new social organizations and opportunities, and discuss social issues in the community.

Tree Plantation Drive 1.0
Contributing to a greener environment by planting 25 saplings
On July 7, 2022, we took a significant step towards environmental sustainability by organizing Tree Plantation Drive 1.0 in collaboration with Haritha Keralam Mission and Kollam Sanchari at Kavara Vadakkathil LPS, Kollam.
A team of 25 dedicated volunteers joined hands for the noble cause of contributing to a greener environment by planting 25 saplings. This initiative marked the beginning of the Pachathuruthu Project at Kavara Vadakkathil LP School, an endeavor by Captains Social Foundation in collaboration with Haritha Keralam Mission Kollam and Kollam Sanchari. The Pachathuruthu Project aims to create 150+ Green Islands in schools across Kollam, promoting sustainability and environmental consciousness. The first Green Island was successfully established at Kavara Vadakkathil LP School, thanks to the efforts and commitment of 12 volunteers.

Book Donation Drive 1.0
Providing essential reading books to 50 economically backward students
From August 1 to 4, In collaboration with Tharang GCEB, Reema S, District Program Coordinator of The Social Captains, organized the Book Donation Drive 1.0 at Govt. HSLP School, Pappanamcode, Trivandrum.
A dedicated group of 10 volunteers came together to provide essential reading books to 50 economically backward students. The initiative included a Book Collection Drive, where children's books and magazines were collected from August 1 to 4 in Thiruvananthapuram. In addition to book collection, a fundraising campaign was conducted to provide goodies for the students of Govt. H S L P School, Pappanamcode. The program aimed to establish a small class library and engage students in activities such as reciting, singing, dancing, coloring, and reading.

A compassionate team of 5 volunteers came together, dedicating their efforts to crafting a day that fosters happiness for 10 economically backward individuals. Sreelekha, District Program Coordinator of Captains Social Foundation, orchestrated her inaugural volunteering activity in Malappuram.
During this heartwarming event, the volunteers visited an old-age home orphanage, extending their kindness by donating clothes and sweets to the 10 inmates.

Beach CleanUp Drive 3.0

On August 15, 2022, we proudly organized Beach CleanUp Drive 3.0 in collaboration with Streets of Calicut at South Beach, Kozhikode. A dedicated team of 16 environmentally conscious volunteers joined forces for the collective mission of responsibly disposing of 100 kg of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. This impactful initiative aimed to contribute to the cleanliness and preservation of the picturesque South Beach in Kozhikode.
The volunteers in Kozhikode, in collaboration with Streets of Calicut, orchestrated a meaningful streetwalk combined with cleaning activities, also known as Plogging, creating awareness about the importance of waste management and environmental conservation. The event unfolded from 6:30 AM to 10 AM, with the enthusiastic participation of 15-plus volunteers who actively engaged in the cleanup activities.

The Volunteers Hub Renovation
Fostering a better co-working environment for 250 vounteers
From August 1-15, 2022, The Social Captains took on the task of renovating The Volunteers Hub in Ernakulam. This initiative was undertaken with the goal of fostering a better co-working environment for 250 volunteers.
The dedication of five volunteers played a crucial role in the successful execution of the renovation project. Their efforts have transformed The Volunteers Hub, creating a more conducive and collaborative space for the volunteers involved.

#MyPaperBag Campaign 1.0
Promoting awareness on plastic by engaging youth in the creation of 52 paper bags
On August 19, 2022, we orchestrated the impactful #MyPaperBag Campaign 1.0 in collaboration with The Arts and Craft Club of the Department of Sociology, Majlis Arts and Science College, at Parudur Higher Secondary School, Pallipuram, Palakkad. A collective force of 52 passionate volunteers convened for the shared objective of promoting awareness on plastic pollution by actively engaging youth in the creation of 52 eco-friendly paper bags.
This pioneering initiative, hosted by The Arts & Craft Club of the Department of Sociology, Majlis Arts & Science College, unfolded in collaboration with the Science Club of Parudur Higher Secondary School Pallipuram, Palakkad. The program, spearheaded by our dedicated volunteer Fahisa Thasni (@faay__619), showcased the commitment of around 50 volunteers who wholeheartedly participated in the event. The campaign not only served as a platform for raising awareness about the environmental impact of plastic but also empowered youth to actively contribute to sustainable practices.

The Artistic Camp 1.0

From August 19 to 21, 2022, a transformative initiative unfolded in Kottayam – The Artistic Camp 1.0, a collaborative effort between The Social Captains, Kerala Responsible Tourism Mission, and Maravanthuruthu Grampanchayath. The Artistic Camp 2.0
