Meet The Changemaker 1.0

Inspired and motivated 100 youth TOWARDS VOLUNTEERING

On March 21, 2021, we hosted an incredible interactive session - Meet The ​Changemakers with the inspirational Maitreyan! Over 100 passionate volunteers ​joined us for an evening of enlightenment and empowerment. Maitreyan, a free ​thinker and retired social activist, dedicates his days to spreading joy, offering support, ​educating others, and capturing the beauty of life through his lens. His commitment ​to making a positive impact on the world is truly commendable.


Our pleasure knew no bounds as we inaugurated the #MeetTheChangemaker series ​with Maitreyan! This initiative is a celebration of those who have devoted their lives to ​making a difference. #MeetTheChangemaker aims to inspire and engage youth ​volunteers, bringing them closer to impactful role models. Together, we're creating a ​sustainable community of changemakers, driven by The Social Captains.

Creating Peacemaking Projects 1.0

Enhanced the skill and capacity of 60 youth

On March 29, 2021, the M. Dasan Institute of Technology, Kozhikode, witnessed ​the inaugural Volunteer Capacity Development and Training Lab session for the ​dedicated volunteers of National Service Scheme, Unit 254 & 608. A phenomenal ​turnout of 60 enthusiastic volunteers actively participated, collaboratively shaping 6 ​impactful projects during this transformative session!


Guiding the way was Afsal Mohammed B, a Peace First Ambassador for Asia and ​Oceania, leading the lab training on "Creating Peacemaking Projects." Volunteers not ​only gained valuable insights but are also equipped with digital tools, community ​support, mentorship, and the opportunity to receive $250-$2500 to turn their ideas ​into impactful action! This initiative is a joint venture by CAPTAINS Social Solutions ​and Peace First, a global incubator of youth-led social change. Together, we're ​nurturing the next generation of changemakers!

Volunteer For Vaccination 1.0

Inspired and motivated 100 youth

On April 12, 2021, in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association, were able to succeed the Volunteer for Vaccination1.0 held at Kollam.


A total of 7 dedicated volunteers came together to support and facilitate the vaccination of 300 beneficiaries at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Kollam. It was a proud moment for us to contribute to the community and work alongside the Indian Medical Association in organizing the COVID Immunisation Center. A heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers and the Indian Medical Association - Desinganad Branch for making this initiative a success. Your dedication and support are truly commendable.

Creating Peacemaking Projects 2.0

Enhanced the skill and capacity of 50 youth

On April 11, 2021, in collaboration with the SAJ Foundation, we proudly organized Create Peace-making Projects 2.0 in Malappuram. Two passionate volunteers united their efforts to enhance the skills and capacity of 50 beneficiaries, marking a significant step towards fostering positive change in our community.


The Volunteer Capacity Development and Training Lab session, conducted by the Social Captains, took place at MOUP School Munda, Malappuram. Afsal Mohammed B, Peace First Ambassador for Asia and Oceania, led the lab training on Creating Peacemaking Projects. Volunteers were equipped with essential digital tools, community support, and mentorship to empower them in their peacemaking endeavors. As an added boost, they have the opportunity to receive funding ranging from $250 to $2500 to turn their visionary ideas into impactful actions.

Two dedicated volunteers came together to empower and enhance the skills and capacity of 25 beneficiaries, marking a significant step towards fostering positive change within our community. Their commitment to making a difference is truly commendable.


As part of this initiative, the Volunteer Capacity Development and Training Lab session, conducted by the Social Captains was hosted at Munderi Badhal School, Malappuram. This session was a crucial component of the SINK Workshop organized by ARISE and the Institute of Social Volunteering on April 10, 2021. Afsal Mohammed B, Peace First Ambassador for Asia and Oceania, led the lab training on Creating Peacemaking Projects. Volunteers were equipped with essential digital tools, community support, and mentorship to empower them in their peacemaking endeavors. Additionally, they have the opportunity to receive funding ranging from $250 to $2500 to bring their transformative ideas into action.

Volunteer For Vaccination 2.0

Supported 300 individuals to get vaccinated

On April 17, 2021, Volunteer for Vaccination 2.0 unfolded in collaboration with Perinad Gramapanchayth & Primary Health Centre in Kollam. A dedicated team of 5 volunteers joined forces to support 300 individuals in getting vaccinated.


Proudly associated with Perinad Gramapanchayath and Perinad Primary Health Center, we organized and facilitated the COVID Immunisation Center in Perinad.

Continuing our support, 10 of our volunteers actively participated in the COVID Vaccination Campaign at Vellimon LP School and Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Kollam, contributing to the vaccination of over 600 people.

Gratitude to all volunteers and partners for making a substantial impact in our community's health and well-being.

Volunteer Story Circle 3.0

Facilitating meaningful dialogue among 25 youth

On June 13, 2021, the virtual realm resonated with enthusiasm as we hosted Volunteer Story Circle 2.0, a dynamic gathering conducted through an engaging online Google Meet. A dedicated assembly of approximately 25 volunteers collaborated to facilitate meaningful dialogue among 25 beneficiaries, creating a space for insightful conversations.


The event centered around a thought-provoking group discussion on "Essential Skill-set and Knowledge Accessible for Students in Schools," aligning seamlessly with ongoing research at the Social Incubation Lab. Utilizing the interactive platform of Clubhouse, over 20 youth actively participated in the discussion, sharing valuable experiences and initiatives related to education and skill development. This collaborative exchange not only contributed to the ongoing research endeavors but also highlighted the importance of fostering a comprehensive skill-set for students in schools.

The Social Hackathon 1.0

Development of 8 impactful social projects

On May 22-23, 2021, The Social Captain organized the Social Hackathon via an online Google Meet platform.


A remarkable assembly of 45 dedicated volunteers participated in this event, uniting their efforts to develop 18 impactful social projects. The hackathon served as a platform for the youth to ideate, design, execute, and lead initiatives addressing social injustice in their communities. Over the course of 50 hours, the participants demonstrated their commitment to fostering positive change through compassion, courage, and collaborative leadership.

This initiative was conducted in collaboration with Peace First, the Global Incubator of Youth-led Social Change, as part of Social Solutions India by The Social Captain. The success of this hackathon highlighted the potential of harnessing collective creativity and passion for addressing pressing social challenges.

The Social Hackathon 3.0

From June 10 to June 11, 2021, we ignited the spirit of innovation and social impact with collaboration with peace first as we hosted The Social Hackathon 3.0, a virtual gathering conducted through an interactive Google Meet. A dedicated team of 5 volunteers collaborated passionately, working towards the development of 8 impactful social projects benefiting 32 beneficiaries.


The third edition of The Social Hackathon, held on July 10-11, 2021, marked a tremendous success! About 32 enthusiastic youth from 15 teams actively participated in the hackathon, showcasing their creativity and dedication. In a remarkable span of 250 hours, these teams collectively developed 8 inspiring Social Projects. It serves as a dynamic platform for youth to ideate, design, execute, and lead social initiatives that address injustice in their communities. First Executive Committee

Facilitating meaningful dialogue among 8 youth

From August 13 to August 15, 2021, a significant milestone was achieved as we organized the First Executive Committee meeting at the Clean Circle Office in Ernakulam. A dedicated team of 8 volunteers converged to facilitate meaningful dialogue among 8 youth participants. This pivotal gathering marked the inaugural executive committee meeting of the Social Captains, held in Ernakulam.


During the meeting, a comprehensive review of previous initiatives took place, allowing for a reflective assessment of achievements and learnings. Additionally, the committee engaged in initial discussions on upcoming projects, setting the stage for future impactful endeavours. The Social Hackathon 4.0

Development of 16 impactful social projects

rom August 26 to August 27, 2021, we embarked on a transformative journey as we organized the Social Hackathon 4.0 in collaboration with Peace First at the scenic Ramakkalmedu in Idukki. A dedicated team of 5 volunteers converged to spearhead the development of 16 impactful social projects benefiting 30 beneficiaries.


This edition marked a historic moment as we successfully organized the first offline hackathon, hosted by @arisetoinfinite with the generous support of @gooddeedsday.

Around 30 enthusiastic youth from 16 teams participated in the hackathon, contributing their creativity and passion to develop 16 Social Projects in an inspiring span of 24 hours. The Social Hackathon stands as a powerful platform for youth to ideate, design, execute, and lead social initiatives that address injustice in their communities. Guided by compassion, courage, and collaborative leadership, this initiative was put forward by the Social Captains in collaboration with Peace First and the Global Incubator of Youth-led Social Change.

The Social Hackathon 6.0

Development of 9 impactful social projects

On December 04 and December 05, 2021, we proudly organized the impactful Social Hackathon 5.0 in collaboration with Peace First, a transformative event held in the vibrant city of Kollam. A dedicated team of 5 volunteers gathered, spearheading the development of 9 impactful social projects designed to benefit 19 beneficiaries. The sixth edition of The Social Hackathon, also known as the National Volunteers Hackathon 2021, marked a significant milestone. Hosted offline in Kollam, Kerala, this event was organized by @tgf_india and @isv_kerala with the generous support of @gooddeedsday and @peacefirstorg.


Approximately 19 enthusiastic youth from 9 teams actively participated in the hackathon, dedicating 24 hours to developing 9 innovative Social Projects.

The Social Hackathon serves as a powerful platform for youth to ideate, design, execute, and lead social initiatives that address injustice in their communities.

Social Volunteer Awards 2021

Recognizing 10 youth for their volunteer efforts

On December 04 and December 05, 2021, we proudly hosted the Social Volunteer Awards 2021 in collaboration with Peace First and Good Deeds Day, a prestigious event held in the vibrant city of Kollam. A dedicated team of 10 volunteers came together to recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of 10 youth volunteers for their commendable efforts.


The Social Volunteer Awards 2021, an initiative by @isv_kerala in collaboration with @tgf_india and @socialsolutionsindia, stands as a testament to the commitment to community development and the engagement of volunteers, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This honorary award serves to recognize 10 extraordinary youth volunteers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, initiated impactful changes in society, and embraced sustainable practices. It is a celebration of their dedication to making a positive difference in the world.
